Tony Paul

Raised in a musical family, Anthony Woodroffe Jr. is a multi-instrumentalist, recording artist and educator.

Anthony also known as ‘Tony Paul’ is an “in demand” musician in Trinidad as well as regionally, both as a sideman and as a featured soloist and has performed extensively with Trinidadian icons Dr. Ray Holman, Clive Zanda and Ella Andal to name a few.

He has performed at all of the major festivals in Trinidad and has headlined on the International Night at The Tobago Jazz Experience 2023.

He has also featured with the Caribbean Jazz group Elan Parle at the Jazz and Creole Festival in Dominica and has recently performed at the St. Lucia Jazz and Arts festival with the Iconic Boo Hinkson in 2023 and the Incredible Vaughnette Bigford in 2024.

Internationally he has performed at Carnegie Hall in New York and has shared the stage with the Cuban Maestro and Jazz Legend Paquito D’Rivera.


The holder of a Bachelor of the Arts degree in jazz studies from Leeds College of Music in the UK and a Master of Music in Music Education from Boston University, Tony Paul is currently on the teaching staff at The Academy for the Performing Arts at the University of Trinidad and Tobago as an Assistant Professor of Music and holds the position as the Leader of the Jazz & Contemporary Music Studio with the mandate to develop the jazz curriculum at the APA.
