Terry Shaw

Theron Michael Shaw is a Trinidadian guitarist, composer and arranger whose work reflects a deep commitment to Caribbean musical identity. From his early beginnings with a simple four-string toy guitar, Shaw developed into a versatile musician, studying formally and learning from notable elders while shaping a unique sound grounded in calypso, African heritage and global influences.

His recordings include The Sojourn, Right Here, Right Now and Gumbo Caribe, each representing Shaw’s continued exploration of acoustic textures, rhythmic diversity and Caribbean narrative. He has toured internationally and performed with celebrated figures such as André Tanker, Liam Teague, Mighty Sparrow, David Rudder and Andy Narell, appearing at major regional festivals including Jazz on the Hill, Jazz Artists on the Greens and the Tobago Jazz Experience.
